Let me just say that on Saturday, I was mildly upset that I couldn't watch The Preakness Stakes.  I was expecting, Barbaro, Brother Derek and Sweetnorthernsaint to be the front runners.  (The last came third and the second fourth.)

Let me just say I'm so glad I didn't see it.  I'd asked it to be taped for me, but before I went to watch it, fortunately I was told, "You hadn't heard?  Maybe you shouldn't."  After I was told, I didn't watch it. 

Needless to say, when I was told what happened, I'm really glad I didn't see it live.  Thank heavens that I was sitting in Zak's eating dinner and enjoying myself .  I would've cried to hours afterwards.  I can't stand watching an injured horse; watching Barbaro break his leg would've been too much for me.  Usually, after an injury like that, they would put him down on the track, but right now he's doing all right.  While his career is over, I'm glad the surgery to save him was successful.

The whole thing made me really sad. :-( I hope he comes out ok, but man, he really blew everything all to shit in his leg. :-(
