The calm before the storm of the family descending upon Chez Spy on Christmas morning.

I have my Christmas playlist blasting, I went out and filled the birdfeeder and left something for Mange (a Squirrel, who clearly nearly lost a battle with a cat as he's missing half the fur on his tail) and am getting ready to cook breakfast.

My Christmas present to myself:  buying out my lease and officially owning my beloved car.

I don't have to leave my house or even get out of my PJs.  Snow is always pretty when you can sit inside and watch it.

Also, I'm done my recap with plenty of time to spare.

Usually, I would never do something like this -- okay I might -- but it's the time of year we're supposed to be happy and therefore, I'll take part.

Day one:  The amount of parking in my hometown.  Those of who know my biggest issue with driving (besides a great fear of getting lost) is WHERE DO I PARK MY CAR?  My hometown from the main drag never looks like there's a lot of parking bit really it has at least 5 huge lots hidden just behind the four corners.  It's only 50 cents an hour to park.  It's a silly thing that makes me happy, but it eases my stress greatly when I want to go to the knitting store, Mennonite butcher's, Scottish shop, DMV, Library, or just shopping at the couple of posh shops we have.   Technically, this made me happy yesterday, but since it's only 6:52am, there isn't much of a chance for anything to make me happy today, yet.

Although, my coffee is really good.
