I need a new flash drive.  I got the one I had two years ago and it's starting to give me issues -- because I lost the flipping cap (I'm suspecting dust and other such issues).

What brand do I get?  I want one that's pretty reliable.

Hi Spy!

I use the SanDisk Cruzer Micro 4GB. This one has a retractable USB port so you don't have to worry about losing the cap. I've seen this sucker as little as $25US on Amazon.com. And yes, It's reliable. I've had mine for several years. Hubby also has the same one that he uses at work as well. No problems so far.

NO on the Cruzer (sorry)--I've had mine for almost a year and the retractable part no longer stays out reliably, which means when I try to plug it in, it slips back and won't stay hooked in the USB port reliably... which makes it hard to get data off/on (it spontaneously disconnects in the middle of data transfers). I've now got another kind that I like... I'll look at it tomorrow at school and see what it is.

I have a Lexar that is a "sport" model, with a rubber case that goes on the outside... no moving parts, heavy duty, has survived tons of banging around. Hubby and I have identical models, bought when 1Gb thumb drives were "new". I can get you exact specs this evening when I am at home if you would like.
